Your Role as a Guest Speaker

Your Role as a Guest Speaker

This article explains the Guest Speaker role in Motion Meetings 2.0 — who it is for, what access you have, and how it differs from the regular Speaker role.

What Is a Guest Speaker?

A Guest Speaker is an external presenter — someone who is not a permanent member of the organization hosting the AGM but has been invited to address participants on a specific topic. Examples include external auditors presenting financial results, industry experts, legal counsel, or guest panellists.

Guest Speaker vs. Speaker

Guest Speakers have a slightly more limited access scope compared to regular Speakers:

Your organizer controls exactly what you can see. If you expect access to certain documents or the full Q&A queue and cannot see them, contact your meeting organizer.

How You Are Invited

Your organizer adds you to the meeting with the Guest Speaker role and enters your email address. You receive an invitation email with a personalized magic link. No account creation or password is needed — click the link and you are in.

Preparing for Your Presentation

  • Confirm with your organizer exactly when you will be presenting and for how long.
  • Test your audio and video in the Speaker Room before the meeting starts.
  • If you plan to share your screen, test that too — use the screen share button in the meeting toolbar.
  • Have your slides or notes open and ready before you join.
